I have decided to build Big Mek Gyvver and Big Boss Hazza' Hoff as soon as I can (could I call his personal squigg Buccanna?). They are the two ultimate leaders of the Ork Waagh, and since I write about them so often I find it very natural that they get built and painted rather fast.
I have also continued to work on my Trukk, but there are a lot of small parts and details to paint while assembling to get it to both look good and orky, so the progress is a little slower than I had expected and hoped.
The main chassis is assembled and painted. What remains here are the rims of the wheels. I decided last night to paint them Khorne red as red is the colour for speed within the Ork culture, and one would like the rims to go 'round fast in order for da trukk to go fast too...
I also need to paint a little black on the wheel axels where they meet the rims. Apart from that the chassis with engineblock is complete.
I am working on painting the fanbelt and radiator, the fanblades on the fanbelt assembly will be red too, and the argument here is the same as with the rims. Not sure with the radiator if it will be red, black, metal or a combo. Will look at pics of other trukks and see if I can see what is customary to do here.
The platform for the placement of the driver and the guntower for the shooter is painted and glued to the chassis. I have also painted the "engineside" of the wall between the engine and drivers compartment.
The flatbed is also painted, with metal, red and yellow plates attached to the black basic construction. I have also painted the side walls, and they will be glued on after just a little detail painting of the hinches.
The next now is to assemble the rest of the drivers compartment and exhaust systems, and then paint and assemble the driver and gunner, as well as the extra equipment for the trukk (gang planks, wreckingball, and such). And then it should be complete and ready for action...

What's left to make... Orks
The Orks are a crazy bunch. The last month they have ravaged throught Games Workshop with the release of their new Codex, and I have started to assemble and paint my green horde.
I have three old trukks that I intend to use as warbuggies as they are rather small compared to the new trukk. These are assembled, but I am considering doing some modifications to them to get a big shoota on the back of them. Two of them have a weapon in front, but the third one is missing this. So either I will add a weapon from my Space Marines in front on the third buggy, or I will add a weapon mounted on a pole or tripod on the flatbed. I will give Big Mek Gyvver access to my bitbox and see what comes out of that...
In the Ork Battleforce box there were a bunch of Boyz (we'll come back to them later), and three bikes that are still on their sprues. There were also a Trukk and I am working on assembling and painting that now. I like to reach every corner with the brush, so I paint as I assemble.
The biggest vehicles that needs to be built and painted are the two Battlewagons. One of them will be quite tall with lots of shootas sticking out, while the other will be a little lower with a Deff Rolla attached to the front. This one will also have a quite solid cannon instead of more of the smaller ones if everything works according to plan.
And while we are talking cannons, I also have four Mek Guns, and at the moment I plan to make one of each of the four types available from these boxed sets. If one proves much better than the rest when I get to use them on the battlefield, I might add more of that type sometime in the future.
The army has one airplane at the moment, but I do not yet know if it will be a Blitza Bommer, a Burna Bommer or a Dakkajet. I will decide when I start assembly, and if the plane is ok to build I am quite sure there will be at least one of each before I call the army complete. I will have no Deffkoptas, so this will be the only airpower.
Big Mek Gyvver is heavily (pun intended) in to warmachines that stomp around. I have no plans to add a Stompa, as I feel that set is a little too expensive at the moment (but if I get a lot of money back on my tax return later this autumn I will not exclude one totally), but there are two 'naugts. One will be a Gorkanaut and the other a Morkanaut. Can't risk to piss off one of the Gods, so the army needs one of each.
There are also two Deff Dreads, and two boxes of Killa Kans (one box and one full sprue in the Stormclaw box to be precise).
I have three boxes of Meganobz, and these boxes can each produce one Big Mek in mega armour. These are not part of the Meganobz unit though, so I intend to make two Big Meks (one of them wil be Big Mek Gyvver) as there are two different versions of Big Meks available in the box and they both look cool. The rest of the Meganobz will be one powerful unit.
Also I have two boxes of Flash Gitz, and I look forward to creating their crazy weapons in a true orky way. Hopefully Big Mek Gyvver can over-do himself with fancy and killy weapons. I have a plan to have them led by a captin, but not Badduk as I don't like the pirate theme. My orks are warriors, not pirates.
I have one box of Boyz that still awaits assembly, along with two boxes of Nobs (one box is really a full sprue in the Stormclaw box), two boxes of Lootas & Burnas (will probably be one unit of each) and the full sprue of Gretchins with Runtheard (also in the Stormclaw box).
I have some characters as well. The big bozz himself, Hazza' Hoff will be assembled from the Stormclaw boxed set, where they made the exclusive character Grukk Face-Rippa. I do not plan to field Grukk or his army, but instead tha Night Raidaz will be lead by Hazza' Hoff and his pet squig Hobie.
I also have a blister with a warboss with attack squig, and he will lead one part of the army, but follow the orders he receives from Hazza' Hoff.
I have two Painboyz, my favorite of these is the finecast Painboy with Grot orderly. He will be my dok, while the Painboy that is out as a plastic kit will be more of a Frankenstein who improves on more or less willing orks to create more powerful fighters.
The army will also have one more Big Mek. He's armed with a shokk attack gun, and fires any nearby Grots that teleports litterary in to the enemy.
Also the machines in the army will be attended by two regular Meks.
The last character is an Ork Commissar, his story will probably be that he is a nob or a boss who has managed to kill an Imperial Guard Commissar and taken his coat. This is not a Citadel miniature, so he will not be used in games. The mini is created by Kromlech miniatures, but it will look nice when the army is on the shelves.
So far I have assembled one box of Gretchins with Runt heard, but I have not started to paint this yet. I have a box of Stormboyz (ten Boyz) who are partially assembled and ready for painting, and thirty-one Boyz that I have started on. Two of the Boyz have been my test subjects, and after I landed on the paint scheme I want to use for the army I started to paint the first layer of paint on some more of them.

What's left to make... Imperial Guard (or Astra Militarum if one should be 100% correct) part 2
Part 1 of this blogpost listed up all the vehicles of the army so I thought I should start where I left off and go on with the troops...
One of the last things I mentioned in Part 1 was the two Tauroxes. They will carry Tempestus Scions to war. I will probably make one Taurox and one Taurox Prime, and fill them with the correct troops.
One of the last things I mentioned in Part 1 was the two Tauroxes. They will carry Tempestus Scions to war. I will probably make one Taurox and one Taurox Prime, and fill them with the correct troops.
I have four boxes of Militatum Tempestus Scions that needs transportation. The Tempestus Scions are the new Elite troops of the Astra militarum.
I also have six boxes of Bullgryns/Ogryns to assemble and paint. I plan to use one of the Ogryns as Nork Deddog and the two remaining in the pack will be used as Bullgryns with battle mauls and suppression shields. I already have three Bullgryns (one box) that I am painting up, and they're armed with grenadier gauntlets and slab shields. I also plan to make some regular Ogryns with ripper guns.

I already have three Bullgryns (one box) that I am painting up, and they're armed with grenadier gauntlets and slab shields. I also plan to make some regular Ogryns with ripper guns.
I like Ogryns, so there might be more of them in the future. They will also get their own Commissar, and I might give one of them a banner just for show.
I have two single Ogryns of the old type still in their blister packs awaiting assembly, and four of them (one is a Bone 'ead) that just needs some final painting and basework. The old Ogryns look nothing like the new ones, but as long as I keep them in two separate units they might just be from two different regions of the planet or different planets or something like that...
I have one box of Catachans and two boxes of Cadians to assemble, and I also have one box of Cadian troops that came in the Cadian armoured fist box. All boxes have ten troops in them. Along with that I have a blister with three Catachans with asault weapons. In addition to these minis I have five Cadians that are partially assembled and painted to fill up a unit of five troopers that are completed earlier (snap-tite troops).
There are 10 Cadians that are partially assembled, 10 that are assembled and primed, 10 Catachans that are assembled and primed, and 10 Cadian veterans (Bastion's Bastards) that are almost ready for the gaming table.
One metal command squad with 6 Cadian troops will be the command squad for my entire regiment, and they are almost complete, except from a few minor details. There is also one Catachan lieutenant, but he is still in his blister.
This command squad will be accompanied by 3 regimantal advisors (metal minis, still in the box), and I think Nork Deddog will have a place here as well. There is also a single Primaris psyker (also metal and in his blister) that might join this command squad.
As mentioned in Part 1, Knight Commander Pask (he'll get a new identity eventually) is going to ride to battle in a Leman Russ Vanquisher that I have assembled. He is partially painted.
But he is not the only character I have for the army. Sergeant Bastion was going to be a character, but Bastonne (that I based him on) was removed as a character in the new rulebook, so he will just be a veteran sergeant with a history. Gunnery Sergeant Harker is still in the book, and I have him as a metal miniature. Colour Sergeant Kell and Lord Castellan Creed are two finecast minis also still in their blisters.
I have one Lord Commissar in finecast, two Officio Prefectus Commissars in plastic (one of them will be attached to the Ogryn Auxillery), and four regular Commissars in metal (three of them is just missing a little paint and some basework).
For the tanks in Part 1 I have 3 metal tank commanders, and I will place them in various vehicles throughout the army.
There are several heavy weapon teams that are awaiting painting and basework. I have two squads (six teams) of Catachans, and eight teams (two squads + two separate bases) of Cadians. It also appears that I have one more squad still on the sprues, but I am not sure if they are Cadian or Catachans yet.
There is also a Catachan special weapons team (two metal minis) to paint and base.
My forces also have with them Ratling Snipers, and I have nine snipers based and awaiting paint, and one blister with three more Ratlings still unopened.
The final mini is also a metal one, an Imperial preacher tagging along with the army. He is armed with a chain sword so he will fight as well, but I do not currently know in what unit. If I find the right kind of miniatures I might try to make a group of militia or rag-tag soldiers to fill the role of suvivors from the defence force on the planet that my troops are sent to defend. Don't need to be many survivors left, just one or two squads. Time will show what I manage to come up with...

What's left to make... Imperial Guard (or Astra Militarum if one should be 100% correct) part 1
I have quite a lot of kits for this army, as I decided quite early after I started looking at the Imperial Guard that it was to be a main army.
The correct name for it now, after the release of the new Codex is Astra Militarum, but I think Imperial Guard will stay on as a name for a long time. I don't mind the new name, it is just odd to start and use a new name over an established one after such a long time.
The Astra Militarum (or Imperial Guard) is an army that works great as a stand-alone army as well as allies to the Space Marines that I will list a little later.
I plan to base these armies with the same kind of basing materials, but with some natural variations to make sure that not all minis get identical bases (that would be rather boring). Some will get more rocks, others more vegitation, but they will blend nicely together. I will also use the same bases for my Orks, as they are a natural enemy for both armies, and for this reason will need to be on the same battlefileds.
I haven't decided to go for either Cadian or Catachan troops, as many Imperial Guard players do as I like the looks of borth of them. I even coinsidered adding some Elysian Drop troops to my army at one time, but since they are all Forge World finecast minis, they will both be expensive and hard to convert. So I have dropped this idea now. Still I'm fielding both Cadian and Catachan troops in the army.
Now for the list of units...
We'll start off with the really big kits, the super heavy tanks.
I have one Baneblade that is painted and ready to go to war, but it is painted dark gray all over, and looks a lot like it just rolled off the production lines. So I would like to add at least one colour to it, but I will wait until I start to paint up one of the other Super Heavies before I do it, so that I can find a colour scheme that will work for all of them.
The Baneblade will be joined by one more just like it. I can make many different super heavies from the box, but I have decided to have two Baneblades as I like the look of that tank and even though super heavies are quite rare now, once there were whole companies of Banebleades in service for the Emperor so I figure there is a bigger chance for two of them than for some very rare version to be out there.
I will also have one Shadowsword as it has the most powerful cannon of all the super heavies. With the different enemies I might face it is good to have a "Titan-killer" in the ranks.
The new super heavy boxes have the sprues to make all types of super heavies from one box, so I am not 100% sure what the fourth super heavy tank will be.
But in the fluff for the army I have planned for the Catachan troops to be expert terrain fighters and the Cadians to be expert city fighters, and then it would be fitting to have a Hellhammer, as this is described as a super heavy optimised for fighting within city areas and dense terrain to fight along with the Cadians. The box I have is the "Hammer of Cadia boxed set, and that says on the box that is contains a Hellhammer, but it probably have options for at least a Baneblade and a few others).
The regular tank department also contains some pretty mean vehicles. In the "Hammer of Cadia" box there were three Hellhounds (often described as flame tanks, but they are based on the Chimera chassis, not the Leman Russ chassis), and I have one Hellhound box from before as well. I plan to field these as two squads of two 'hounds. And I will decide on what configuration to use on them as I build them.
The "hammer of Cadia" box also included three Leman Russ Battletanks. I guess these also can be fielded as the other variants from the regular Battle Tank box, but I do need regular battle tanks so there is a big chance they will be fielded as that. I have one battle tank from before, that has gotten a new camo scheme to fit the plans for my army, and is ready to roll in to battle. The tank commander still need a few more brushstrokes, but if needed he can fight as he is now.
I have three more separate boxes of battle tanks, and one of these has now been assembled as a Vanquisher that will bring Knight Commander Pask (or my equvivalent) to the battlefield. Also I have assembled two Demolishers, and I have one more to assemble.
There is also one manticore/deathstrike to assemble, but I have not decided on what to choose here yet.
I have two boxes of Basilisks, one old and one new box. The artilery piece itself looks identical, it is just two generations of boxes.
To round up the artillery, I have two boxes of Hydras/Wyverns. I plan to add a third box, and make two Hydras and one Wyvern. I'll probably build one of each with the two boxes I have now.
I have two Sentinels that I plan to use for terrain fighting, where the tanks might not be a good idea to bring (jungle/swamplands etc.), so they will get pilots that look like Catachans.
The air capasity is so far being taken care of by one Valkyrie, but there might be more at a later time. I have not decided what part of the army they will serve, but probably they will serve who ever needs them the most at the specific battle.
To make sure the infantry can keep up to speed with the tanks and artillery I have two Chimeras. One is the old Chimera set (like the Basilisk it only looks like the box is different), and one is a Chimera that came in the "Cadian armoured fist" box along with troops to ride in it. I also have two Tauroxes to carry Military Tempestus troops in to battle.
In part 2 I'll look at the troops...

Update after a slow weekend
I'm not sure how many tanks I had when I last updated the blog, and I am to lazy too look through old posts to check. So I am sorry if this is old news...
There are now four Leman Russ tanks on my shelves, and one is ready to roll to war while the other three needs paint.
The one that is ready is mentioned before, I still have some minor details to paint but no one would notice that if I fielded it on the battlefiled as it is now. This is a regular battle tank, and this will be the tank that is the most common variant in my armed forces. It is armed with the Battle cannon, as well as a lascannon and two side sponsons with heavy bolters. On this tank the commander is sitting topside with his head and upper body out of the top hatch.
I have two Demolishers, both with a heavy bolter in front and plasma cannons in the side sponsons. They both have closed turrets, and are equipped with a dozer blade as well. These two will be joined by one more with a similar setup, although I might give the last one either heavy flamers or multi meltas in the side sponsons just to make a little variation. But apart from that it will have an identical setup.
The fourth tank that is assembled is a Vanquisher. This has a much more powerful gun compared to the regular battle tank. Because of this the Vanquisher has a much longer range and also the shells are better for penetrating armour. This makes it a favorite with tank commanders everywhere, so I have decided that this tank will be commanded by my version of Knight Commander Pask.
At the moment he is standing partly painted.on my desk. I need to decide on a color for his cloak, and I'm leaning towards using a bright red as is fitting for a tank legend. I also need to paint his hair and the metal armour on his chest as well as his commanders cap.
I have gotten a lot of black paint on the Ork Trukk, and the next paint session with this trukk will see the wheels and suspension done. when this has dried, I am ready to continue on the assembly to get the trukk ready.
I have not painted more of the regular Orks, but I have the colorscheme ready, and the two test models are nearly done. I don't need to think of it any more, so the next time I paint Orks I will start to mass paint in the colors decided. I look forward to getting some of them done, so that I can start to assemble more of these great minis. I will make Big Mek Gyvver pretty soon, and I also think I know what model to use for the Big Boss Hazza' Hoff. A catalogue of the Ork models will come in the near future.

What's left to make... General Warhammer Fantasy
I have a category that I decided to call General Warhammer Fantasy.
Mostly this is Bretonnians, but there are a few other items.
The Bretonnians consist of one box of Knight Errant/Knights of the Realm. This box makes it possible to make 8 knights, so it is quite a lot of miniatures for the value of one box. I have not decided what unit I would like to make yet, but I am quite sure I will make them all in to one solid unit.
I also have a blister that contains one single plastic knight. Not sure what to do with him yet, depends on if he looks like a leader or just a regular knight. He might get some special role, or he may be added in to the unit mentioned above.
For the foot-soldiers I have two boxes of Men-at-arms. Each box contains 16 men, so I have 32 men to field. They look rather uniform, and can have a command unit. I plan to give them the look of a fairly trained army, like a city millitia or something fairly similar.
I also have two boxes of pesant bowmen. That means 32 regular people of the town have brought their longbows to help fight the enemy. Like the Men-at-arms there is an option for a full command, and I plan to make the command unit look like former soldiers, while the rest will get different kinds of clothes or uniforms.
For the chapel, I have an Empire Warrior Priest armed with a hammer and reading from the Holy book. Perhaps he's reading the instructions for the Holy Handgrenade or something... This is the only metal mini for this category.
I have two witch hunters, one that I plan to give a home in the Skullvane mance and the other I have no specific plan for at the moment. I figure these hunters should be steady on the aim with their pistols and have quite good sword skills too. These are finecast models.
The final miniature I have for this category, is a Captain of the Empire with hammer and pistol. This is the warrior I plan to have as a leader of the foot sloggers, and maybe also commanding the knights before they ride out to face the enemy. This is also a finecast model, and a web exclusive.
I don't plan to use these warriors as a specific army. I had that plan for the Bretonnians once, but there were so many metal models for that army that I decided not to go for it. Still, if they get a new release where there are mostly plastic one never knows...
The idea for these warriors are to have them as peole among my fantasy scenery. They might get to face chaos forces or greensins, and might get some assistance of the dwarfs from their near by mountain keep.

I don't really have that many plans, but I thnk they will look nice as a diorama, so only time will tell...

What's left to make... Dwarfs
I have a soft spot for these small but tough warriros of the mountains. I hope to get the time to work on this army soon, as they have some really nice minis.
I have some units painted already, but a lot more waiting in their boxes.
I have one Gyrocpter from the former release in finecast, and two Gyrocopters/Gyrobombers from the new release in plastic. I will probably have both Gyrocopters and Gyrobombers in the army.
I also have a spare Gyrocopter pilot, that I plan to use as a pilot for a special project I have. I would very much like to make an airship, a blimp, for the army. The Goodyear Blimp is a known blimp from our times, so I would like to call mine The Badyear Blimp. I have some spare bombs from the new Gyrocopter set, and along with a spare metal cannon I have (have the cannon and crew but not the base for it) it will arm the blimp.
I have a plastic box with 15 Miners and 3 Grudge Ponies with carts that awaits painting, and 2 old metal Miners that are partially painted. The metal Miners look quite different from the platic ones, but I might give them one of the ponies and make a little diorama with them.
I also have one old musician that is partially assembled, that is also a metal mini. The Thunderer Lord I have mentioned in several older posts is also partially painted. This is not a Games Workshop miniature though, but is produced by Awatars of War.
There are a lot of characters for this army, and 4 of them are the White Dwarf subscription minis. Not sure if all 4 will end up in the army as I have some problems finding a spot for the 2013 mini who is a movie director (Peter Jackson) and the 2012 mini who is a pirate with a pirate chest. But I have plans for the 2011 mini who is a World War 1 style pilot and the 2014 mini who is a vampire hunter.
I am not sure if the Awatars of War mini Dwarf Berserker Hero will fit in either, but I will see how he looks compared to my dragon slayer. If I use the berserker hero it must be in a company of slayers, but perhaps the Games Workshop Dragon slayer is better for leading a slayer unit. No matter what I end up with I know that the dragon slayer will be in the army.
Grimm Burloksson and Belegar Ironhammer will also be in the army as characters, but I will probably give them new names to fit with my dwarf clan.
There are 2 more caracters and they are both engineers. 1 Master Engineer with great weapon (a finecast mini) and 1 Master Engineer (metal mini).
There are 3 old metal sets still in the box. 1 bolt thrower, 1 Malakai Makaisson's Goblin-hewer (an old and weird weapon) and Thorek Ironbrow's Anvil of Doom (a set that I know exist in Finecast too, but I will try and build it in metal and see how it ends up).
The box with the Dwarf cannon will either be a normal cannon or an organ gun. I am leaning towards an organ gun as I have a regular cannon already.
Then let's talk troops...
I have 2 boxes of Ironbreakers/Irondrakes, I plan to make one of each troop type with them.

I have 2 boxes of Ironbreakers/Irondrakes, I plan to make one of each troop type with them.
I have a set of Ironbreakers metal figures assembled from earlier, but I think the plastic ones look so different that I will need to field them in separate units.
I have two boxes of regular warriors, and the biggest difference I see between the new and old box is the instrument that the musician play. I think these boxes can be made in to longbeards too, so one box might be made in to that.
Finally there are 3 boxes of Thunderers/Quarrelers, and I will see what I will do with the mix. But I know I will have both units represented in the army.

Imperial Guard update
Yesterday I finally got to repaint the Leman Russ Battletank that I had assembled a long time ago.
The camo scheme was dark gray, black and brown/yellow, but is now dark gray, fortress gray and black.
When I started to look at the tank I saw several small details that was poorly painted or not painted at all, so I would have needed to do more with the tank anyway. This will be fixed now.
I also painted the yellow jacket of the commander the same blue-gray as the crew of the Baneblade. The tank commander also had pars of his pants visible, and they were dark gray from before. So if the colours still look ok together when I inspect them this afternoon, I will give tank crew, artillery crew and air crew this look. If the gunners on the side door of the Valkyrie/Vendetta have whole suits on they will be dark gray, but if they have pants and jackets they will get the same look too.
I also started to build yet another Leman Russ, a Vanquisher this time. I plan to make this the command tank for my Leman Russ forces, and I will add the Knight Commander Pask figure in the tower (he will get a new name at a later time), as well as adding some extra antennas to the tower. The tank will also be equipped with a dozer blade when I get the new ones in the mail.

What's left to make... Greenskins (Goblins)
My Greenskins army is an army that I have mostly to have fun with, because I like the looks of the Night Goblins. The official name for the rulebook for this army is Orcs & Goblins, but I like to field this as an army without Orcs.
The army will consist mostly of Goblins of different kinds, but there will be more Night Goblins than other Goblins.
The Goblin Warlord Turnip (Skarsnik) is a mighty Goblin warlord, and he has managed to get a lot of different Goblin tribes to join his warband. He has also managed to gain the assistance of River Trolls and Giants, and who knows what will join his army as they march along.
I have bought several minis on Ebay for this army, batches of Goblins from the starter set that was released a loooong time ago with dwarfs and goblins (battle for Skull Pass I think it was called). So I don't have exact numbers of all minis in the army. There are several loose minis that is in plastic bags, among them extra metal Goblins for the Doom Diver, and other figures aquired here and there.
I have several Spider Riders on sprue, but I do not know exactly how many. But I am quite sure I can make several units.
I have almost finished a goblin standard bearer, he is only missing one or two colours of paint, some wash and basing. Then there are 39 Night Goblin archers with full command (because of the number I suppose that the standard bearer I just mentioned should go with this unit) and 42 Night Goblins armed with shields and spears (also with command figures) assembled and waiting to be painted up.
I also have 32 Night Goblins with hand weapons (short swords and clubs) and shields with command figures that are partially assembled.
In a plastic bag there are 8 Gnarly Cave Squigs, probably from Kromlech miniatures, as they are resin and looks slightly different from the Games Workshop squigs.
I have 7 characters that needs to be assembled and painted. 3 of them is the Forgeworld Night Goblin command set. Here there is a Night Goblin with a great double banner. I think he will be Turnips main standard bearer. There are four Goblin Shamans that will follow the army. Two blisters with one Goblin Shaman in each (one plastic and one metal), and one blister with two metal Shamans. There is also a blister with a metal and plastic kit of a warboss on wolf.
Of core elements to assemble, there are three boxes of Night Goblin regiments and two boxes or regular Goblin regiments (one old box and one from the current range). There is also one box of Forrest Goblin Spider Riders and one box of Wolf Riders.
The biggest set to assemble is probably the Arachnarok spider. This can have two different configurations but I have not decided what to use for mine. Might be one of each when time comes.
I have assembled one unit of River Trolls, and have one more box to assemble. Also I have a Giant to assemble.
There is also a metal Doom Diver, and I think I will need to make some sort of base for that to make it in to a small diorama.
Finally there are the Squigs, a creature I am quite fond of... I have one blister with three Gnarly Cave Squigs (metal), one metal blister with Squig Herders, one metal blister with Squig Hoppers and one plastic Giant Squig.

What's left to make... Ogre Kingdom
The time has come to present the Ogres.
I like to use spare heads from my Ogres to build Bullgryns in Warhammer 40.000, so I have hopes that this army will have some progress as I need to take the heads I need for the Ogres in the box before I can take spare heads to use on my Bullgryns.
I have a unit of 4 Leadbelchers (1 box) that are partly assembled. There are some places where it would be hard to paint if I build everything first, so I will assemble the rest after they are painted
Also i need to paint and add some details like axes, pouches with meat, beer barrels and things like that.
I will add some Gnoblars to the unit, but I will have to do the painting first, to see where I have room to add them on the bases.
I have 4 characters for this army. 1 Tyrant that I plan to use as the boss, 1 Slaughtermaster, 1 Maneater (the paymaster, a web exclusive miniature) and Bragg the Gutsman. These are all finecast minis.
Bragg is a miniature that ended up in my posession just because he looks cool. He's sort of like a real mean hangman from the middle ages, and I like that. I look forward to painting him up, and hope I do him justice.
In addition to the unit of Leadbelchers that I am currently working on, I have 2 more units still in their boxes, so I get to field a lot of cannons on the battlefield. I am not sure how I will field them yet, but I'll figure it out as I paint the Ogres up.
2 boxes of Ironguts adds up the rest of the infantry so far, along with a painted unit of regular Ogres.
I need to buy some more infantry units in the future, but not before I have painted up what I already have.
I have 2 boxes of Gnoblar fighters. They are probably not the big fighters, but I plan to have some fun with them. I am not sure if I can field both boxes as one big unit, or if I need to make two uinits of them, but I plan to keep them in as few units as possible. Maybe I might swap some of them with the Gnoblars that come with the other Ogre boxes. I also plan to make a command squad with a standard bearer, a so called champion and a musician. If it works, I plan to use some drums that are left from an old orc box and glue them to the back of one Gnoblar, and have another one walk behind him to bang on them. They will not have any practical use as a command squad in the game, but I just like to make the unit look a little cooler.
The cavalry is made up of 2 boxes of Mournfang cavalry. This are very nice sets, and I plan to paint the fur of the Mournfang in the same colours as the Rhinox that pull the Ironblaster or the Scraplauncher (depending on what I choose to build as the box can make either one). An then I can use the same colours on the Thundertusk or Stonehorn as well. This will give all the animals a nice coherent look and make the units look as they come form the same area.

What's left to make... Warriors of Chaos
This is the first army I ever bought miniatures for, and it is also one of the smallest armies I have.
I have some Warriors of Chaos assembled, and also some Chaos Hounds and one or two Knights. But there are only a few warriors that are all done with bases.
I am not fond of all the deamons and heavy mutations, so I want to have an army consisting of mostly human-looking warriors. As many of the warriors as possible will wear the helmets that hide their faces, so no one knows exactly how they look under their armour.
The bases here will be covered with flock that looks like dead or tainted grass (don't remember the name of it right now, but it is flock from Games Workshop/Citadel).
I have a box called Warriors of Chaos Spearhead, it was released with all the new miniatures when the Warroris of Chaos line was re-released some time back. It includes the first release of minatures like Sigvald the Magnificent and Wulfrick the Wanderer in metal, and they are now available in the current range in Finecast.
I have assembled some of the minis in the spearhead, but I know there are special characters and also Chaos Chosen left unassembled in th box. For the Chosen, I might have to buy them in finecast or plastic to build them as the metal minis are really bent and I fear they might break if I try to bend them back. But I will see what I do when I come around to building them.
I have 3 Knights of the current range that are cut from the sprues and awaiting assembly and painting. The remaining two Knights from the box are built but awaiting basework.
I also have 12 Warriors (one box) cut from the sprues and awaiting assembly and painting. This is a unit I have put together from the Warriors of Chaos box and from my bitbox to make them look like followers of Khorne - The Blood God.
They are mostly equipped with axes and a bit more brutal weapons than the unit called "the Shining" that are all equipped with swords.
There are also several sets that are in their boxes. I have 2 Marauder sets, one with regular Marauders and one with Horsemen. Ideally these units should be added to with more of the same as they are rather weak. They are basically humans following Chaos and do not have the toughness of the Chaos Warriors or Knights.
2 Warriors of Chaos boxed sets (one is old, the other is the current box) will be made in to warriors. I have no idea yet if they will belong to one special God or if they will be just regular warriors. I guess I'll decide that when I start planning them.
The final sets are 3 boxes of the newest Chaos Knights. They have the big, mean horses, and the two Knigts I have assembled so far was quite ok to assemble and paint. Still have to figure out how to base them though, as I like them to look good while still being glued in a solid way to their bases. I will look into the possibility of making some sort of sceninc bases for them.

What's left to make... Warhammer 40K Scenery
I have lots of scenery for Warhammer 40.000. Most of it is either buldings or fortifications.
This fits the background well, and I have some plans as to how I want it to look when everything is set up together. I have already assembled several things, but I need to prime it and paint it.
I have a Shrine of the Aquila built almost straight out of the box. The only thing that differs from the box is the placement of the walkways inside the building.
This Shrine was originally the first of two shrines, but the other shrine is much bigger. The history of this is blogged about here.
In front of the biggest Shrine of the Aquila there will be a broken Imperial Eagle and a statue of a Space Marine from the Honored Imperium set. There is also parts of an Aquila wall that will be placed near the small Shrine.
I have built 4 Quake gun craters, these are assembled, but need some treatment with liquid greenstuff before they get primed, as I think there are too visible lines where the two halves have been glued together.
The Vengeance weapon battery is built with one of each tower, one Battle cannon and one Punisher cannon. The idea is to add another set at a later time, also with one of each, so that I can use them either as single gun towers or in pairs as I see fit.
The first of two Imperial bunkers are assembled and awaiting primer. The second bunker is still in the box. The bunkers will be used as part of the defence lines, along with one set called Imperial defence line, and one called Imperial defence emplacement. I plan to add these together in such a way that they can be used in different configurations depending on how I assemble the fortifications. The defence lines will run between buildings and the gun emplacements. The emplacements have several openings where defence lines can be added, so they will be the hubs in the defence network.
In this network there will also be an Aquila Strongpoint that is still in the box, and a Firestorm redoubt (also in the box). I will probably need some more trenches between them.
In the ruined city, and maybe also in the trenches there will be parts from the Battlefield Accessories set where it looks fitting.
Somewhere in the area I will find a place to set up the Battlescape set, this is a set that combines some dead trees with an abandoned Rhino and have some very nice details. This is one of the sets I look most forward to working with.
I also have a Skyshield landingpad that I will try to find a good place for in the battle zone. My original idea is to try and build it so it looks like it is part of some of the buildings in the town, but I will see what I can come up with. This will probably have the Aegis defence line set up around it as it is a key structure for the forces fighting in the region to hold on to.
The ruined buldings will be made from a Sanctum Imperialis (still in the box), a Basilica Administratium (in the box) and 3 boxes of Manufactorums. I plan to build all these sets quite freely to create different buldings in the ruined town.
I also have the communications tower from an Imperial Bastion that I will add to the ruins as a key point that needs protction, so this will either be close to the Skyshiled landingpad, or it will get some Aegis shields for itself.

One more Leman Russ is ready, and Hydra is started
I have assembled one more Leman Russ Demolisher, so that I now have the grand total of 2...
On the first one I have added a plow. I planned to add one to the second one also, but the plow I had in the Chimera kit did not fit at all. It ended up standing to long in front of the tank for it to look good.
But I have ordered more of the right plows on Ebay and they will probably arrive within a few weeks. The plows can be assembled any time, so I don't need them to paint or add details to the tanks I am buliding.
The plan is to build one more demolisher, and field them as one unit of 3, and they can also be part of a tank company if I get enough tanks to field that in the future (9 tanks and a lead Chimera I believe).
I have also assembled the hull of my first Hydra. The Hydra has 4 long-barreld autocannons, that fire at a really high rate, and it is ideal for anti aircraft defence. I plan to field at least two of them, and also make a Wyvern (they build from the same box) The difference between them is the armament. The Hydra has long autocannons, while the Wyvern has mortars that rain shrapnel over the infantry.
I have assembled all I can of the first Hydra before I start to paint it up. Before I build the quad gun and the control area, I need to paint up the crew and details. This also means I have to decide if I like my crew to have the same uniform as the tankers or the infantry. So far I find arguments that swings both ways, so I will take a little time to decide. In the meantime I might make some more orks.
I have started to paint my Orks now. So far only two Boyz as a test to find the colours for the entire Ork army, and I am also painting up the Trukk so I can assemble that.
When I decide on the final paint scheme, I will take some pictures and post here.

What's left to make... Warhammer 40K various
I have 2 Imperial Knights, or Imperial Knight Titans as it says on the boxes, that I plan to use either as allies to my Imperial Guard or Space Marine army.
Since the bases are identical for these two armies there are no probems using them for either one when I feel like it.
The Imperial Knights can be fielded as a separate army, but to do that you need minimum 3 knights, so I am one short. There might be more knights in the future as they are very nice minis, but there are no plans for that at the moment.
I have two Inquisitors that are out of their blisters. One of them is a metal inquisitor with a plastma pistol. I have some problems getting his pointing hand to fit to his arm, as there seems to be some old glue or something giving me a hard time. But I am sure I will get to fit it eventually, and if I don't I know I can do it if I use pinning. This Inquisitor seems to be out of sale, as I don't see it on the Games Worksop pages anymore.
The other Inquisitor is almost identical, but he is armed with an Inferno pistol and a power sword. This one is a finecast, and is still in the current range.
I don't plan to field an Inquisitor army, but they will look nice in the cabinet along the Marines or Guard units, and they will have a small contingency of Sisters of Battle alongside them as I have some of those as well.
I have 3 sisters Repentia and 4 regular sisters and I don't plan to field a sisters army either (at least not unless they release them in plastic) but they are nice as aides to an Inquisitor.

What's left to make... Warhammer Fantasy Scenery
Last post I looked at the non-Games Workshop stuff, now it is time to start looking at the miniatures from Games Workshop.
Starting with Fantasy scenery.
I have two sets that is partially complete. The Temple of Sculls are fully assembled (not that much to asemble really) but needs to be sprayed black and painted. I intend to do some spraying real soon, and will do this box along with several 40K scenery. Then it is a matter of painting rocks and using both washes and drybrushing (good opportunity to learn that).
The other set that is started on (partially complete might be a bit premature) is a Citadel woods. I have redied the base, and assembled the stem of the 3 trees that shall sit upon it, but I have not yet added branches or leaves to the trees. Will prime the base here, but not really sure if I need to prime the trees.
I have another Citadel wood that neds to be assembled, but that is currently still on the sprues in the box.
I also have a box of walls and fences, and that will be nice to have among my towers and buildings in the "town" that is comming some time in the future.
The Skullvane Manse is the only real building that is not just a tower of some sorts. This building is a house on the mountainside, but also with a tower. On the top of this tower there is a cuppola with a telescope. I plan to replace this with a regular stonework barricade as you originally see on towers, and use the cuppola either on the Whitchfate Tor or the Deatknell Watch depending on what tower is most like the original in size.
But the first tower I intend to build, just to learn the best way to paint bricks, is the Dreadstone Blight. This is a ruined tower, and will give me a good chance to test how to best paint the bricks that there are so many of on the other towers mentioned above.
What's left to make... Non GW stuff
I think it's time to start to update the blog with what's on the shelves, since the computer systems are down at work. That means I can either go up to the roof, or I can sit and update my blog...
I'll start with the stuff that isn't connected to Games Workshop.
I have an Ellen Stone - Cowgirl mini in 54mm scale (warhammer is 28mm so she's a bit taller).
This mini is just something I bought from Ebay to get some variation from warhammer painting. It is a nice model, so I plan to finish it and put it on the shelf above my workstation.
I also have the Ellen Stone mini in 28mm, and I'll paint her up along with a Victoria Jacobs - cowgirl in the same scale. These are both Reaper Chronoscope minis.
In the same series, I have Belle - Steampunk heroine and Bonnie - futuristic heroine.
From the Reaper Warlord series I have a female dwarf hero called Kaa Foehunter, and from Reaper Dark Heaven Legends I have Valloa- Elf Thief.
Repaer also have some resin series, and I have one resin figure from their Reaper Chronooscope Bone series, called Rosie - Chronotechnician.
I have no idea if I ever going to use theese minis for anything, except for having them standing on a shelf. But two minis I plan to use are some resin cargo crates that I plan to use for Warhammer 40K, and a set of unknown metal miniatures that makes up a small scene arround a guillotine.

Sorted all unassembled miniatures
Yesterday I finished sorting through all the unfinished miniatures. The only thing left now is to sort through the minis that are painted but still needs some wash or basework, and take pictures of all the finished minis as they go in to the glass cabinets.
To get them in to the glass cabinets I need to assemble some more. I have all the shelves assembled, but I need to assemble the glass cabinets itself that will go into the shelves. My plan is to assemble them as I need them, as I need many shelves for my unassembled minis. But as the minis get assembled, the shelves get emptied, and I need more space for finished minis. So this should work quite well...
What I found when sorting through my minis is that I have a lot of stuff that I have started on but never finished. There were a lot of minis removed from he sprues and in various stages of completion. Everything from minis just being removed from the sprues and put in a little box, to minis just missing one colour or just missing a wash.
So if I am a little effective, I can finish several minis in a short time. Some of them have just minor details left, and they have been standing on shelves or in boxes for a long time.
I was reading through my blog from the frst post last week, to fix some tags and I see that many of the minis I found in boxes was reported as "almost finished" back in 2011...
Over the next days there will be some blogposts reporting what is on the shelves, and if everything works according to plan, all finished minis will get their picture taken and presented here on the blog.
